2022 Pinot Noir

Price: $55.00

2022 White Pinot Noir
*Members Only*

A red grape processed like a white grape.
Started doing this back in 2011 with one barrel, as an experiment. All native primary and secondary fermentation in a stainless steel barrel. Only difference now is that I have TWO stainless steel barrels! Nose of pear and ruby red grapefruit. Imbibe and a lush texture coats the mouth showing flavors of ripe Mirabelle plums, freshly sliced pineapple and Pinot noir of all things! A fun wine to share with those who might not like "white wine" since it should really be red... $50 per bottle

Price: $45.00

2022 Rose Pinot Noir
*Members Only*

Lovely and lively.
A serious rosé, if there is such a thing. Drink this first and order more as I believe I only have eight cases left as of today because I have been drinking a bottle per week since being bottled. Lovely aromas of fresh pear and honeysuckle. Entry shows oyster nectar and lemon. Wait a moment and raspberries over river stones. Weird yet wonderful. Fun stuff! All native fermentation in neutral French oak barrels. $40 per bottle

Price: $70.00

2022 Direct From barrel - 943 Pinot Noir

One single clone, named “943” from a once used barrel. Seems like straightforward logic but not such a simple wine! This Pinot noir cutting is allegedly from the Cote d’Or in Burgundy. The clusters are long and gangly, and the berries are small, unlike the tight, tiny, fist-sized cluster of most Pinot noir cuttings. This results in intense color and big, almost massive flavors. A big bomber of a Pinot to say the least. No shrinking violet here!

Price: $70.00

2022 Direct From Barrel - Dirty to Barrel Pinot Noir

This is a winemaking technique where the wine is placed into the barrel while it is still undergoing primary fermentation. This results in a smoother, or plush mouthfeel, as if you fermented in a wooded fermenter, which you did, partially. Additional work is keeping that barrel topped up religiously on a tighter schedule than usual to mitigate bacterial risk. Not only does using this technique offer up a more luxurious mouthfeel as well as seemingly more fruit. You taste it and then let me know your thoughts.

Price: $70.00

2022 Direct From Barrel - Lonely Shallow Bin Pinot Noir

This was a single fermentation which took place in a hidden picking bin as we ran out of fermentation vessels in 2022 because all the grapes seemed to come in at the same time, so we used a picking bin to hold the overflow. This bin was only about two feet in depth with sides approaching four feet. Problem was that this bin was buried outside behind the taller vessels and was overlooked. It might have received one punch down every few days, ergo minimal extraction due to mechanical means, but plenty of extraction due to enzymatic means. A fruit bomb of a wine, but you tell me.

Price: $70.00

2022 Direct From Barrel - Not for Sale Pinot Noir

A perfect barrel found by Nicole Simoni during topping. Also known as Nicole’s Fine Selection. This happens now and then: you remove the bung to check the level when an intoxicating aroma slowly emerges. This gets your attention, so before you top off the barrel you pull a sample to take home to try with dinner. If it works with a meal and evokes positive comments from those “not in the know” then it is, by definition, a winner!

2022 Cuvée E Pinot Noir

“The nose is a pure red berry, violet and cherry with hints of tobacco. The palate is a pure bright and juicy black fruit with some tea–like dryness on the finish."
-Purely Domestic Wine Report:
93 points
Drink 2018 – 2026.

Entry is big with loads of almost Barolo-like flavors such as stone fruit skin and the plum meat near the seed, a real aggressive intensity of flavors. Even some fresh Thai Basil shows through in more of an anise-like flavor. These flavors are usually a sign of potential longevity in a New World Pinot noir.

2022 Cuvée I Pinot Noir

2022 Cuvée O Pinot Noir

Darker than my normal style of Pinot noir, this wine is almost brooding in color, still translucent but deeper. Aromatics are more akin to the smell of dusty fruit ripening along a gravel road, of which we have plenty of out here with a seemingly limitless wild plum tree population. First intake shows intense acid, an impassioned combination of blood orange and pomegranate. This wine gets your attention right up front. With acidity comes salivation and flavors like a bowl of blackberries combined with Candy Cap mushrooms and a squeeze of lime intensify your experience. The tannins, while present, are superfine and offer a nice juxtaposition to the fruit and acid three-legged stool at this point. Yes, the wine is all “asses and elbows” as they say, you know; things that stick out.

Cuvee O happens to be a rare bottling. Since my start in 1998, there have only been six bottlings...

2022 Saffron Fields Vineyard Pinot Noir - Field Blend

Amazing entry with honeydew melon drizzled with fireweed honey. Closely followed by salted watermelon and honeysuckle stems. The entry is big, but not a massive attack, just a big bear hug of a wine. Bizarre astringency follows up right after the entry with the tannin of the French Oak combining with the acid of limes over lemons. Round mouthfeel shows Red Delicious apples initially then a hot baked apple pie using Granny Smith apples with the skins left on. Finish is linear with Carambola followed by a fresh hot Dutch Baby. And the finish shows Sugar coated apples from the County Fair but dusted with lemon-lime Pixie Stix.
Drink this a bit warmer than normal and in a correct leaded crystal Chardonnay glass over just a large-bowled glass and you will experience what this wine is made to be.

2022 Wind Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir - Pommard

Wind Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir is home to the most northern vineyard in the Willamette Valley. From vines planted between 1974 and 1988, it is matured in one-third new French oak. It has plenty of dusky red and black fruit on the nose, interlaced with truffle and cola scents. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity, focused tannins, lively red cherries and lingering cranberry that form the caressing, lightly spiced finish.

2022 Yates Conwill Vineyard Pinot Noir - Pommard

The nose is a juicy maraschino cherry, with a fragrance of fresh spring meadow, moving into baking spices, cherry pie, and rich plum. The palate is red fruits, marionberry takes over with a sweet, subtle finish.

2022 Yates Conwill Vineyard Pinot Noir - Wadenswil

2022 Chardonnay

2022 Cuvée E Chardonnay

Comprised from all the barrels. Aromatics are purely orchard fruit trees in the spring. Big Abete Fetel pear aromatics, texture and flavor, with that spicy and salty thing going, like a really good blue cheese with a fragrant hint of wild flowers. The "everyday" wine you should have cases of in your cellar.

2022 Cuvée O Chardonnay

There is a divine open and vibrant nose on this Chardonnay: Pineapple, stone fruits, lots of floral, almost honeysuckle accents. Hints of yellow pepper oils, lemon peel, and plum bitters. The mouthfeel sways back and forth from salinity to creaminess juxtaposing with flavors ranging from lemon sorbet to banana cream pie.

2022 Yates Conwill Vineyard Chardonnay

Made in all of the larger 400 and 500 liter puncheon barrels from both France and Austria, with the barrels from Austria being three times as thick as the French barrels. Aromatics are all Jura based with honeysuckle, lemon pith, low-tied and Asian pear. Entry is pure glycerol and mouth coating, leading you to believe that the wine will be big and cloying. Surprise as the high level of acidity causes a juxtaposition to occur in the mouth and brain throwing the drinker for a fun flip. Flavors are more toward a fresh cut alfalfa while strolling along a trout stream, or an Oregon Coast at low-tide with a warmed limestone bow of citrus. Finish is long and continues flipping between boldness and shyness with a massive umami finish.

2022 Cuvée X Chardonnay

All made in the “cigar barrels’ made popular by Didier Dagueneau of 350 Liters in size. This wine has a compelling aromatic quality offering up beeswax, quince, and Texas Ruby Red Grapefruit. Amazing texture, so lush it gives the impression of being a fat slut-puppy of a wine but yet there is ample cleansing acidity showing up before the finish. A truly confusing and compelling wine. Cream soda for adults.

2021 Chardonnay

2021 Maverick Vineyard Chardonnay

All raised within the normal 228 liter barrels of which approximately one-third was new French oak from a slow growth forest. The biggest Chardonnay of the four showing a massive and dense nose with reduction in a natural, box of rubber bands kind of way. Intriguing and comforting, if you ever have experience real rubber bands that is... Definitely the most powerful of the group in aromatics, entry and flavor.

Price: $75.00
