Meredith Mitchell Vineyard is owned and operated by Susan Meredith and Frank Mitchell.  Located to the southwest of McMinnville in the coastal foothills this vineyard is one of the most challenging sites EIEIO & Company works with.  Soils are shallow with basaltic parent material just below the soil surface and consistently produce small clusters and berries with intense acid and structure.  These berries are continuously subjected to relentless coastal breezes that tear through the Van Duzer Corridor and as a result build up thick, protective skins.  These skins create a high skin to juice ratio and tannin when processed, requiring the winemaker to carefully monitor extraction.
