Canary Hill previously owned by Dick and Nancy Daniel, is now owned by Ken Wright and managed by Mark Gould.  The vineyard is located at the southern end of the Eola Hills on a mix of Jory and Nekia soils. These volcanic soils are shallower, generally 1 to 3 feet in depth, and have less clay than the Dundee Hills (Jory). As a result, these soils dry sooner, encouraging earlier ripening of the fruit.  EIEIO & Company leases the original planting of the Canary Hill Vineyard, the Old Block (planted in 1982) which not only produces wines with big, complex flavors and substantial acid, but also wines that are consistent in character from the time the fruit is harvested through fermentation and ageing and even in the bottle.
